Factors That Influence A Military Loan Decision

Posted on 01 September 2010

Before issuing a loan the lender has to think over few things and then decide to whether he has to lend the loan or not. There are certain things which might stop him from lending you a military loan. The main reason occurs when a retired military officer has to borrow loan. He has to make sure that he can pay back his military loan with his limited income.

Following are four factors that impact the military loan.

Lack of permanent address

When you are working as a military officer then you have to change places and shift your duties. You may be assigned duty on different places every year. This way you do not have any permanent address and so this becomes a confusion for the lender either to lend you the military loan or not. In case if they lend you and what if they do not find you at the place of which you have given the address. But to over come this problem you can give them another permanent address of your family member and your friend.

Lack of other debts

Before the lender gives you the loan he looks and checks your previous credit background.

If you had borrowed loan and returned them then the lender can easily issue the military loan to you but if you have a weak credit background then maybe it may take time for the lender to think and issue you the loan. So its good if you pay off your previous debts and then go for the other ones. This way even you will be relaxed and will not get into financial crisis.

Ability to make regular payments

If you are working for the military services then it may be easy for you to issue a loan and paying it back by getting monthly payment. But if you do not serve for military service any more and are retired then it might be difficult for you to manage and cope up with your savings and paying off the debt. Before issuing a loan you have to make sure that you will pay back your loan and manage your savings in such a way that they may not take you in financial crisis.

Credit history

As mentioned earlier that good credit history matters a lot. having a good credit background will easily allow the lender to lend you military loan. But if you already have many debts on you then it is difficult for the lender to decide whether to give you the loan or not. As the lender has to make sure if the person borrowing the loan is capable of paying back his amount of loan with interest on it.

These are the four main factors that impact the military loan. Avoid these factors and most importantly try to have a good credit background.
