The military VA loan can be applied for by both active and veteran military service members. There are a number of in fact a lot of home loan benefits as VA home loans are subsidized by the government. Benefits of these loans include

How to request a certificate of eligibility

On meeting all requirements for the military VA loan, a certificate of eligibility will be issued to you. There are two ways to get an eligibility certificate. An eligibility certificate can be requested in different ways. Your lender can get you this certificate by making a direct request. An SOS from your top commander and chief of the unit can also get you an eligibility certificate, this is for active duty members. This requires that you have never been discharged from your service.

To whom it may concern,

I, Michael Austin, active duty member of the United States Army since August 8, 1999 has decided on moving into a new home along with family. I look forward to a VA home loan to enable me to afford the purchase of this home. Also to mention that I have never been discharged from the Army and have continually served for a period of ten years. I have a credit score of 985. Currently, me and my family are stationed at South shore town, Ohio. We are on military housing and would like the opportunity to purchase our own home.

Eligibilty certificate

I am writing this letter to ask you for assistance in obtaining the certificate of eligibility that I need to be able to pursue the VA home loan. I have attached all required documentation and paperwork with this letter. I would appreciate and like the application process to start as soon as possible.

Proof of my military service is available for you, attached herein with this letter. My contact information and specific details about my unit and service duties are also present in this letter.

I appreciate your time and attention to this matter. Contact me regarding any questions, queries and concerns. Also inform me about any missing document or any other required document for receiving the eligibility certificate.
