If one invention comes by work, 2 would come by accident anywhere any time. Even in the military field, some of the wackiest inventions came forth over the years. If you have a knack of reading interesting stuff, here under is a list of some of the most off the wall inventions by a number of misguided military inventors.
1. Gay Bombs:

On the top of the list, gay bombs stand tall with female pheromones. With the idea inception in 1994, gay bombs were first thought of by the United States Air Force whose proposal was later discovered by the Sunshine Project through a request of the Freedom of Information Act. Furthermore, known as the halitosis bomb, the weirdest weapon at the top of the list aimed to distract its enemies by releasing female pheromones. Hence, strong enough to make the enemy soldiers irresistible to each other, which became easier to attack.
2. The Whirlwind Cannon:

Although the project fell short of the expectations, these man-made cannons released the whirlwind by creating an explosion in the combustion chamber. The odd weapon was built by Dr. Zippermeyer in World War II that worked under the close supervision of the Office of Aeronautics in Germany. With the ability to shatter planks with a distance of 250 yards, the Austrian Invention eventually resulted in a let down since it failed to cater to high altitudes.
3. The Claw Of Archimedes:

This weird weapon takes position number three in the list and was used against the Romans by Archimedes in the third century. The Claw of Archimedes was a shield by the Roman naval attack and lifted the ship out of the water with its large seizing hooks. Much like a giant crane, the weapon was hidden into the city walls and became useful in the Second Punic War.
4. Project Habakkuk:

This aircraft carrier was built by the British government in the Second World War. The creation is said to be built out of pykrete that contained ice and wood pulp with the length and thickness of about 2000 and 40 feet. The 150 plane carrier was the brain child of Geoffrey Pyke after working at the Combined Operations Headquarters.
5. The Lantern Shield:

An invention from the resurgence era, the fifth weapon in the list was a dual product.
6. Flying Aircraft Carriers:

These carriers can be spotted in various novels, movies and TV shows. The Zeppelin carriers were an initiation of the US Navy and were used during World War II. This weird weapon used a method where a sky hook attached itself to a trapeze at the bottom of the ship. The carrier aimed to transport fighter that was closer to the fighting arena.
7. The Puckle Gun:

This gun could fire 63 times in approximately 7 minutes. The Defence gun consisted of a multi-shot revolving cylinder and a flintlock gun with a single barrel. However, the weirdest aspect of this weapon was that it shot one round bullet and one square bullet at the same time aiming at Christian enemies and Muslim Turks from the same gun. The Puckle gun was an invention by the English inventor but was never widely produced due to its complexity.
8. The Man Catcher:

As from its name, this weapon aimed to capture royal enemies for the sake of ransom. Furthermore, playing a major role in holding violent prisoners, the man catcher was widely used in the 18th century in Europe. A similar weapon, sasumata, was used to pin an enemy to the ground or the wall, whereas its variation is still used by the Japanese riot police.
9. The Sword Breaker:

The second last weirdest weapon in the list is a tool from the knight’s arsenal from the medieval era. The weapon had several indentations in it whose quick twist could break the blade of the opponent easily.
10. Animal Bombs:

Last but not least, the tenth tool in the list of the top ten weirdest weapons is a nightmare for today’s animal right organizations. Like most other weapons, the Animal Bomb was also invented in the World War II. Where the US used bats with small bombs inside them, the British carried out the same practice with dead rats and plastic explosives. Furthermore, the Soviet Union managed to inculcate the same concept in dogs thus developing anti-tank dogs. The idea was approved by President Roosevelt in 1942 after Lytle S. Adams came up with the idea.
