Uses Of A Military Business Loan

Posted on 09 October 2010

Those working in the military are eligible for receiving U.S military loan which could be used for setting up small businesses. The grants are made through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Now if you are wondering whether you fall in the category to those whom this loan is made available to then you could clarify that now as the list is mentioned below to whom this loan is given:

  • Veterans
  • Active Military Personnel
  • Those leaving duty
  • The National Guard
  • Army Reserves
  • Widows of those killed on servicemilitary loan

The amount of money which could be obtained through this loan goes up till $500,000 maximum.

You may not receive this full amount, however you would receive a certain percentage of the amount required by you. For instance if you ask for $150,000 then 75% of that amount would be granted to you and so on for amounts more than $150,000. To further clarify this, you would have to consult your lender. In some cases, the lender might ask for a collateral so that if your amount is high and tomorrow you fail to pay back your loan then they could cash the collateral instead to cover up for their loan amount. The collateral is an asset which you keep with your lender which is of the equal amount of your loan.

If you are uncertain of what business you should do then speak to your lender who would better guide you with this considering the plans people bring forward to lenders for their loan approval. This is vital that you plan our first and then apply for your loan because if your loan is approved then they would start charing you the interest which has to be paid monthly. And if you have no business running then that might cause severe problems.

Since you can afford to make a fortune working under the military services, the SBA started this project to help those who earn a certain amount every month and could use this money in times of need when the economy maybe in a recession. It also provides you as a base on which you could stand as an indivdual and make your own identity in the business world. The biggest factor making these loans attractive is the rate of interest which is between 2-5%.

Each year SBA keeps a budget of $1billion to be given out as loans to help those serving in the military. Therefore, if you wish to receive such a loan then do your research, plan out a business proposal and submit your application.
