“Stand Down Grants” for war-time veterans can prove to be beneficial if the veteran is homeless or needs employment opportunities. These grants are offered by non-profit organizations and veterans service organizations. These grants range from US$7,000 to US$10,000 and require application 90 days before the “Stand Down” event.

American economy went in recession during 2009, the recession is continuing. During that recession American security needs also increased and government announces new pay packages and other benefits for military which attracts young Americans towards military. By adding recent increases and incentives in salary the military pay becomes more attractive than any other private sector job by far. Some people related it with recession in economy. But regardless weather it is related to recession or not, this increases make military job more attractive for a young middle class American citizen.
