In the end of 2008 American Navy announced a new concept which is known as the Virtual Command Pilot Program. The basic aim of this program is to allow selected officers to work from their home, regardless of requirement of their current posting station. The Navy officials stated that through this program not only transfer cost of Navy has been reduced but the stability in the families of naval staff also achieved. A stable family and satisfied employees definitely increase the efficiency and performance of the Navy.
Beneficiaries of Virtual Command Pilot Program

Initially eight officer billets are allowed to participate in this program. The selection of the officers for this program is based on their performance, capability and communication skills, and the one who are good in working independently without compromising the discipline of military. It is also important for selected officers to remain touch with their unit and parent commands and also visit time to time t o their permanent base position.
Facilities Provided
The permanent commands provides facilities to the selected officers such as Laptop and docking station as well as internet facility along with all necessary computer accessories like keyboard, mouse and monitor. The selected officers also provided a cell phone which is maintained by government for their daily official use.

According to the Service Members Legal Defense Network December 18th 2010 is marked as “defining civil rights initiative of this decade” .This is the day when the policy known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t tell” (DADT) overturned the Clinton-era. This policy was announced for the gays and lesbians serving the US military.
Discriminated Behavior with Gay Military Service Members

There were about 13,500 military service members who got dismissed by the DADT since 1993 to December 18th 2010 because they were homosexual. There was always a discriminated behavior toward the military service members who were homosexual.
What is DADT?
The term DADT repealed refers to an incident. This incident that took place for the first time in the history of the U.S, when the gay people had the freedom to look forward serving the U.S military. They had no more fear of reprisal, dismissal from military service or any other legal consequences as a result.
Now those individuals who might have been unable in the past can contribute and serve the military without being afraid of discrimination but with the grace.
DADT overturned by Senate’s Majority
DADT repealed when The Senate voted 65-31 including the Republicans — Sens. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joined in the support. Read the full story

Pioneer military loans are only available for military personnel. This includes active as well as veteran military members. Pioneer loans can be applied for by any kind of military member irrespective of their credit histories.
Military Loans
As mentioned above these loans are only available for military members. The loans are given out by many sources. These include credit unions, banks and payday lenders.

Military members however do face problems getting loans. This is because most of the applicants are young men with bad or little credit history. In relation to payday loans in October 2007 a DOD regulation was passed. The law increased the APR for military loans and imposed a rate of 36%.
This increase has made it impossible for most military families to apply for a loan. But there are financial companies such as the Pioneer Military Lending, which, focus on military members. Military base assistance offices and organizations also offer financial aid to military personnel. The lent amount for such loans is however lower.
Reasons
There are many reasons as to why military members prefer a military loan. The biggest reason is due to unpredicted expenses.
